N1.4BN ALLEGED FRAUD: NBA president Usoro, pleads not guilty, gets bail

Nigerian lawyers across the country have been asked to boycott courts from Tuesday over the suspension of the Chief justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen.

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) gave the directive on Monday after its emergency national executive committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja.

The action was to demand a reversal of Onnoghen’s suspension last Friday by President Muhammadu Buhari and the appointment of Tanko Muhammed as acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).

NBA, noting that the boycott will last two days, said the action is meant to serve as a warning to President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government.
