Buhari already using public funds to campaign- Atiku

The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organization (PPCO) has raised an alarm over alleged plots by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to frame the party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

According to the organisation, the plot is heap allegations of gun running on Atiku.

The PPCO says intelligence available to it shows that agents of the “APC have already perfected plots to brand some vehicle with Atiku Abubakar campaign colours, load them with arms and ammunition and take them to Atiku Abubakar’s home in Abuja and Adamawa, where conniving security agents will pounce on them to embarrass our candidate on trumped up charges of gun running.”

Director, Media and Publicity PDP Presidential Campaign Organization, Kola Ologbondiyan, who made the claim in a statement late Wednesday night added:

“The PPCO condemns the plot in totality and urge Nigerians to note that APC has become frenetic and increasingly vicious in its desperation to smear our candidate ahead of the 2019 presidential election.

“We therefore call on all Nigerians to be at alert and continue to be wary of the malicious activities of the APC and the Buhari Presidency, who, in the despondency of their imminent and inevitable defeat at the Presidential poll, have sold their souls to mischief.

“Finally, the PPCO says Nigerians now know who to hold responsible should any harm befall Atiku Abubakar, who they have attained a consensus to vote in, as the next President of our country, come February, 2019.”

Meanwhile the opposition party had insisted that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was being economical with the truth when he stated that President Muhammadu Buhari was not aware of the plans by the executive arm to arraign the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen.

The party asked Osinbajo to know that Nigerians are aware that there is no way such high level decision, like the arraignment of the Chief Justice of Nigeria in a court, would be taken without the awareness, input and clearance of Mr. President.

“However, if the avowal by Vice President Osinbajo’s was true, then it goes to confirm the assertion that President Buhari is not in charge of governance but has outsourced the responsibilities of his office to unelected individuals due to his incompetence.

“Vice President Osinbajo’s assertion has also confirmed the claims by our First Lady, Aisha Buhari that a cabal has taken over the control of the Presidency, for which she forcefully called on Nigerians to take back their country,” the party said.
