Supreme Court fines Sheriff trying to stop Makarfi's appeal
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described the embattled factional chairman of the party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, as a puppet to people in power.
According to the party, some member of the PDP have turned themselves into puppets for those in power.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Dayo Adeyeye, stated this while addressing newsmen in a post convention news briefing in Port Harcourt.
According to Adeyeye, Nigerians were aware of those behind the crisis rocking the PDP, adding that those seen on the stage were mere puppets.
“Some members allowed themselves to be used by some people that are in authority.
“Some of the people you see are mere puppets, but those pulling the strings are behind. Nigerians know those who are causing the crisis in the PDP,” he added.
PDP spokesman, who is a member of the Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee, also said the 2019 general election is not about the PDP but a battle to save the country.
He said rather than people looking at it as a PDP problem, it must be seen as a Nigerian problem, adding that the election would be an encounter between Nigerians and those making life difficult for them.
“The 2019 (election) is a battle between those in power and those that want to wrest it from them. It is a battle between Nigerians and those who are making life difficult for them; it is a battle to save the country.”
