Salah hits Premier League goal no. 10 as Liverpool draw Chelsea

Egypt captain and Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah increased his Premier League goals tally as Liverpool share points with champions Chelsea at Anfield on Saturday.

Salah netted his 10th league goal of the season and 15 overall when he raced onto Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s ball to score the opener in the 65th minute of the game, but he refused to celebrate against his old club.

The winger, who joined Liverpool from AS Roma this season, left the Chelsea last year after a brief and unsuccessful spell at Stamford Bridge.

After his goal, the Reds were heading to a fourth consecutive Premier League victory before Willian’s apparent cross drifted over Simon Mignolet and into the back of the net only five minutes to stoppage time.

“I’m happy about the performance, how we took the game. It’s a little bit more difficult when Chelsea played with eight defenders more or less,” Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp said after the game.

“Of course, if you’re at home 1-0 up, you want the three points, that’s my problem at the moment.

“It was a really good game and at the end, it’s one point against Chelsea. There will be a moment tonight when I think the result is OK – but not now,” he stated.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last five Premier League meetings, as Chelsea are unbeaten in their past six visits to Anfield, a run stretching back to 2012.
