Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) under the leadership Comrade Ayuba Wabba, on Wednesday took to the streets of Abuja and Lagos to protest the increase of pump price of petrol by the federal government.

They were however in the rally alone as the Trade Union Congress had on Tuesday Night backed out of the planned action.

The Industrial Court had also given an order to the unions to shelve the strike pending the determination of a suit brought before it by the Attorney General of the Federation.

Reports across the country show that NLC call for the strike action was ignore in most parts, while there were partial adherence in some other parts.

A good number workers in the public and private sectors disobeyed the sit-at-home order and showed up to perform their places of work, just as commercial transporters went about their business, and markets opened for business.
