Super Falcons maintain 34th position on FIFA rankings

The Super Falcons of Nigeria are the 34th best women team in the world, according to FIFA women’s world rankings released on Friday.

The reigning African champions are among non-movers in the ranking, as they also retained the number one position in Africa.
The Black Queens of Ghana, who are second in the continent, dropped one place from 45th to 46th in the rankings.

The hosts of the last Africa Women Cup of Nations, the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon, who lost 1-0 to the Super Falcons in the final of the tournament last year, maintained their 47th position in the world, and occupy third spot in Africa.

Women’s world champions, the United States of America moved up one place to number one, while former world champions Germany are second place.
France are in third position, Canada, fourth. England are fifth, Japan, sixth, Australia, seventh, Brazil, eight, Sweden, ninth and North Korea, tenth.
The next FIFA women’s rankings will be released on September 1st, 2017.
