Manchester City may hand Nigeria teen sensation, Kelechi Iheanacho a new and improved deal to wade off interests from Premier League rival, Tottenham Hotspurs according to reports in the English media.

The 18-year-old who scored his first Premier League goal in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace earlier this month has been Nigeria junior international featured regularly for the Citizens during their preseason campaign and has recently been involved in the City first team.

Iheanacho’s current deal at the Etihad Stadium doesn’t run out until the summer of 2018 but his performance and growing reputation has caught the attention of a number of European clubs.

Tottenham, if they do make a move for Iheanacho, could lure the Nigerian over to north London with the possibility of giving him more regular first team football as the teenager is currently third on the perking order at City behind the more experienced Sergio Aguero and Wilfred Bony.

But City boss, Manuel Pellegrini, has high hopes for Iheanacho and, according to a UK newspaper, The Sun, Chilean looks set to open contract talks with the youngster in the coming weeks in a bid to fend off interest from other Spurs and other interested clubs.
