Renewed Niger Delta militancy as Tompolo’s game plan

The former Niger Delta militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The anti-graft agency in a statement on Thursday said the 47-year-old Tompolo is wanted in a case of conspiracy, illegal diversion of N34 billion, N11billion and N900 million belonging to the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

The agency therefore called on anyone with useful information on his whereabouts to get in touch.

It will be recalled that a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on two occasions had issued bench warrants for his arrest, and directed all security agencies to fish him out and present him at the next sitting of the court.
