We don’t host militant camp — Ayakoromo

Ayakoromo community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State has dismissed allegations that the area host a militant camp.

A letter to the Commander, Joint Task Force, JTF, by Ayakormo Federated Community, its Chairman, Mr. Ebibofa Richard, and Secretary, Mr. John Ambrose, said the lawyer who made the allegation against the community at a recent stakeholders meeting with Vice President Yemi Osibanjo at the Petroleum Training Institute, PTI, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, created it from his imagination, calling on Nigerians to ignore the allegation.

They said: “There is no iota of truth and sincerity in his claim, as Ayakoromo is a law-abiding community where indigenes go about their legitimate businesses. Ayakoromo has not allowed its territory to be used for illegitimate and illegal gathering since the Nigerian Army invasion of December 1 2010.”

It also described as untrue allegations that there were hijack of ballot boxes in the area during the elections, stressing that the exercise was free and fair in the area.
