2019: PDP begins sale of nomination forms

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has seemingly kicked off the battle for it’s tickets at various levels with its announcement of fees for aspirants into various positions.

Aspirants for the 2019 presidential election under the PDP are to cough out N2 million naira for the party’s Expression of Interest forms, and N10 million for the Nomination form, making a total of N12 million, the party has announced.

This was stated by the Organizing Secretary of the party, Col. Austin Akobundu in Abuja on Monday while announcing the commencement of sale of the forms for the 2019 general elections.

The exercise is to end on September 6.

The announcement by Akobundu was preceded by a meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) presided over by its National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, where the decision was made.

According to the party, the forms for the presidential and governorship aspirants are to be collected and submited at the national secretariat of the party, while those of the legislative offices will be collected and submitted at the state chapter offices nationwide.

Female aspirants are excerpted from payment for any of the forms.

The notice also disclosed that governorship aspirants were to pay a total of N6 million, Senate N3.5 million, House of Representatives N1.5 million and aspirants for state assemblies will pay N600,000.
