2019: PDP boasts of returning to power, says APC suffocating Nigerians

SGF Lawal probe may have been settled within govt closet –PDP

The Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the former ruling party remains strong, intact and strategizing to take over power in 2019 from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

PDD which said it will no longer allow itself to be distracted by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and “his cohorts in the ruling party, the APC,” added that Nigerians are suffering under the scourging and suffocating mis-governance of the APC and promised it will as the opposition, continue to hold the government accountable to its promises.

A recent report had quoted PDP National Working Committee chairman, Makarfi, to have described PDP as broke and unable to meet its financial obligation to staff at the research and training institute, the Peoples Democratic Institute (PDI) in Abuja.

But PDP in a statement released on Friday by its spokesman, Dayo Adeyeye, denied the reports and assured all its members and teeming supporters that it remains intact and is rebranding to remain stronger.

Part of the statement read, “We are strategizing and working with well-meaning Nigerians to return the reign of true democracy and good governance to the people.

“The entire allegation in the publication represents outright falsehood and only exists in the imagination of the writers and their collaborators. The PDP is not broke and does not owe rent on the property being used by the PDI located on Wuse II, Abuja.

“Let us place on record that the PDI’s financial responsibilities are being met accordingly. Just last week, the Caretaker Committee approved monthly imprest for the Institute, and its staff salaries are paid at the same time with that of the PDP staffers.

“For emphasis, all staff of the party and that of the Institute have received their January 2017 salary last week which the secretary of the Staff Welfare Committee confirmed in that publication.”

Accusing Ali Modu Sheriff, a factional leader of the party of embarking on blackmail and outright falsehood to run down PDP and Senator Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee of the party, Adeyeye said the party is poised not be distracted again by anybody.

“We cannot be distracted and again, we advise Sheriff and his cohorts in the ruling party, the APC to let the PDP be. Nigerians are suffering under the scourging and suffocating miss-governance of the APC and our duty as opposition is to hold the government accountable to its promises,” he said.

The tussle for leadership position between senators Makarfi and Sheriff has continued to affect the possibility of the party bouncing back in 2019.

PDP members believing their is hope for them in 2019 are dreamers who need to wake up to see the reality of things clearly. 2019 is never going to be their year, they will have to try again.

“our duty as opposition is to hold the government accountable to its promises,” PDP has failed in carrying out this responsibility. I have not seen them in anyway holding this government accountable to its promises, this is more reason 2019 is looking unlikely for them. If they cannot hold APC’s government accountable, what’s the probability that they will rule Nigeria very well if they eventually returned to power in 2019?

Ahmed Markafi is a clown and should be taken as one. If they like they should strategise from now till eternity, PDP is dead. I am not saying Apc will rule for ever but not PDP especially that appellation can seize power from Apc except another party springs up with forces joined together to defeat the Apc.

I wish PDP best of luck in their future endeavors. May God grants them their heart desires (amen). Also I wish APC best of luck as well in their future endeavors and pray GOD grants them their heart desires.

If God grant Pdp their heart desires, then Nigeria is ruined because the only desire of pdp is to wreck Nigeria. So reverse your prayer. Allah will only grant Buhari his heart desires for Nigeria.
