Saraki: Supreme Court adjourns to February 5

Saraki’s 8-point strategy to fight corruption

The Supreme Court, Thursday, has fixed February 5, 2016 for judgment in Senate President Bukola Saraki’s challenging his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

Tne Senate President was charge with a 13-count charge bodering on alleged false declaration of assets at the CCT.

The SuSupreme Court seven-man panel, led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mahmud Mohammed, decided on the date after listening to arguements from the parties involved in the case.

Addressing the court, Joseph Daudu, Saraki’s counsel, said the CCT lacked the requisite jurisdiction to try the Senate President and urged the court to allow the appeal while prosecution counsel, Rotimi Jacobs (SAN), prayed the court to dismiss the appeal and uphold the majority decision of the Court of Appeal.
