Baba Suwe’s health worsens as TAMPAN denies abandoning him

The health condition of veteran comedian Babatunde Omidina popularly known as Baba Suwe has reportedly deteriorated as he is currently seeking help from his colleagues.

According to insiders, the health condition of the 51-year-old humour merchant has allegedly deteriorated after he confirmed to have been battling an ailment in 2018 which sources say is chronic diabetes.

Revealing his current state in an interview with Lagelu FM Ibadan, Baba Suwe in tears said; “I had just returned from America while I was on phone speaking to my family that I had landed, I fainted and that was it, I spent close to three weeks at the hospital and till now I’m not better’.

Recall that Baba Suwe had informed in an interview in 2018 that he is diabetic as his blood level usually fluctuates but things were normal at the time, but as it is now, the comedian has not gotten over the ailment.

Meanwhile, the Theatre Arts and Motions Pictures Producers Association of Nigeria, TAMPAN, through its National President, Mr. Latin, has denied claims that the association abandoned Baba Suwe in his time of great need.

According to Mr. Latin, the association has been taking care of the medical bills of the comic actor since 2017.

Mr. Latin said; “I have just instructed the Lagos State executive of the association to check on him (Baba Suwe) to ascertain his health progress.

“I can tell you that we have not abandoned him, as well as any of our members, as being speculated in some quarters by mischief-makers,” he added.

Baba Suwe has not been in good state of health ever since his encounter in the hands of officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) which accused him of carrying drugs which led to his detention and investigations.

The Yoruba movie actor was arrested and detained for many days with a long pipe inserted through his anus which has now reportedly affected him health wise.
