Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun, is willing and ready to give his own quota in ensuring the improvement of his new club, Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 30-year old, who completed a move to the English Premier League club on a two-year contract in May, had his first training session with his new teammates for pre-season on Wednesday.

Coming from German Bundesliga side, FSV 05 Mainz, Balogun is hoping to get accustomed to everyone at the club before the start of the season and is ready to play the biggest role to take the club to greater heights.

“The league starts very soon and between now and then it’s about getting up to speed with everyone else as soon as possible,” He told the club’s official website

“Then I want to take it from there, but I’ll give everything I can to improve what this group already has and play the biggest role that I can for the team.

“It’s my first day [Wednesday] and I’ve just finished – I was really warmly received and it’s a nice group.

“My first impressions were very positive, and I feel very comfortable within the group – they all made me feel welcome,” he stated.

The Super Eagles star, who began his career at Turkiyemspor Berlin in 2007 before moves to Hannover, Werder Bremen, Fortuna Dusseldorf and SV Darmstadt, represented Nigeria at the just-concluded FIFA World Cup in Russia, where the Eagles failed to go past the group stages.

Brighton will kick off their Premier League campaign on August 11 in an away match against Watford.
