BENUE:Herdsmen hack final year student to death

An assault by suspected herdsmen in Benue State which occurred after two days of attack has left a final year student identified as Peter Aboh dead.

The death of Peter who was among many others feared killed during the invasion by the herdsmen was made public by Chukwudi Iwuchukwu who posted an obituary of his friend on Facebook.

Chukwudi also posted two photographs; one with the young man’s image and the caption ‘Rest well – Ogbu Aboh Peter (Uncle P): 1990-2017’ and another showing a white coffin which the deceased was laid to rest in.

The picture post was also followed by a message by Iwuchukwu who said, “Peter Aboh was a final-year student of Microbiology at the Federal University, Lafia in Nasarawa State. He was due to graduate in eight months, before Fulani herdsmen gruesomely murdered him in his home in Utonkon in Ado LGA (Benue).”

There has been an increase in the killing of innocent citizens by herdsmen who have become more brazen after recent deadly attacks in Benue, Adamawa and Kwara states.
