Sand Eagles beat Egypt to reach final of Beach Soccer AFCON, seal World Cup spot

Nigeria’s Super Sand Eagles have qualified for next year’s FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup after beating hosts Egypt to reach the final of the ongoing CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The semifinal clash saw Nigeria win 7-6 over the Pharaohs in Sharm El Sheikh to grab one of Africa’s two tickets to the FIFA World Cup.

The Audu Adamu men have now become the first team to qualify for the 2019 Beach Soccer World Cup billed to hold in Paraguay.

Both Egypt and Nigeria will wait until Thursday to see who they face in the 3rd place play-off and in the final respectively.

Four-time African champions Senegal will battle Morocco in the other semi-final match. The winner will join Nigeria at the Beach Soccer World Cup in Paraguay.
