Agitations for restructuring, Biafra motivated by desire for economic gain

The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, on Friday announced that ailing President Muhammadu Buhari is recovering quickly.

He however explained that he will remain in London until such a time his doctors pronounce him fit to return to the country.

Oyegun’s declaration is coming on the heels of claims by the Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose earlier in the week that the president does not only have impaired voice as some have alleged, but now on life support.

Odigie-Oyegun spoke with newsmen on the state of Buhari’s health in Abuja, after a meeting between the party`s National Working Committee (NWC) and state governors elected on the party’s platform.

He said regarding Fayose’s claim that responding to such talk will only amount to dignifying the governor.

He said, “We are glad to inform you that President Muhammadu Buhari is recovering in a very robust manner. We hope he takes it easy and when he comes back, I have no doubt at all that we will have a new and active period of activities.

“If I respond (to Fayose), I will be dignifying him. At the appropriate time, people will answer him; at the appropriate level; at the appropriate time. He is in a different world altogether.’’

Explaining that only the president’s doctors abroad could decide when he would be fit to return to the country, Odigie-Oyegun said that the party leadership’s confidence in President Buhari remains intact.

He said issues discussed at their meeting this Friday were the ongoing agitation for restructuring and inciting utterances coming from different parts of the country, adding, that such statements are not good for the “nation`s health and have to be stopped”.

The APC chairman added that the party insists on its earlier position on the restructuring of the country as clearly stated in its manifesto.

Let us all pretend Oyegun told us the truth and be happy President Buhari is fast recuperating in London. Time will tell, we will soon know the truth behind Buhari’s state of health. But for now, let’s pretend to be happy.

If Buhari is truly recovering, let him address us to shut all critics up. We need proof of life, APC has lied to us too many times, they need to back this affirmation up with evidence(s)

If buhari likes, let him not come to Nigeria again. Although by the time he comes back, he would have seen we Biafrans luxuriating in our Biafra country
