Against the advice of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President Muhammadu Buhari is to address the nation on Tuesday.

The day, May 29, is celebrated as Democracy Day in Nigeria making the return of democratic rule in the country, being the day the military handed over full rule at every level to civilians.

The PDP had in a statement by its national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan,
called on the president not to address Nigerians to mark the occasion because “in the last three years, such addresses had contained deceits, falsifications and unfulfilled promises”.
