As part of effort to boost water supply in Katsina State, a corps member serving in the state, Aliu Iliyasu has drilled two boreholes in Zamfarawa community of Funtua Local Government Area of the state.

The corps member with Registration number KT/18A/1413 has explained his decision to provide the boreholes, noting that it was due to the inability of the community members to have access to potable water for several decades.

At the inauguration of the boreholes in Funtua yesterday, Iliyasu said, “I observed that the people of this community always go to their neighbouring community, which a distance away early in the morning and evenings in search of water for their domestic activities”.

He reaffirmed that lack of good source of water “has infested the community with different kinds of skin diseases. Skin rashes is the major health challenge of the people especially their children which he said was as a result of lack of good sources of water for them to use.
