Costa was underrated at Chelsea --Azpilicueta

Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta believes his Spanish teammate Diego Costa was ‘underrated’ during his stay at Stamford Bridge.

Costa, who joined the Blues from Atletico Madrid back in 2014 and was Chelsea’s highest goal scorer last season, recently completed a move back to the Spanish side.

Azpilicueta, speaking ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Atletico in the Champions league on Wednesday, said, “He (Costa) was an underrated player here.”

He added: “I was lucky enough to play with Diego at Chelsea and with Spain, where I hope to play with him again of course.

“He has now decided for a change so best of luck to him, he was a very important player for Chelsea but now he has moved on so must we.”

Though his transfer has been completed, Costa will not play until January. He will watch his new side host Chelsea in matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League from the stands.
