Crisis hits APGA as NWC suspends national officers

The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) National Working Committee (NWC) has asked Victor Ike Oye to stop acting as the party’s National Chairman until a final decision is taken on his alleged gross misconduct.

The party NWC made its position known to newsmen in Abuja after its monthly meeting on Thursday. The suspension according to the committee was in accordance with the provisions of the party’s constitution and was based on vast constitutional breaches and excessive practices of the chairman and other national officers.

Chief Jerry Obasi, the deputy national secretary of the party, speaking on behalf of the party said the suspension became compulsory in order not to allow the party to be destroyed by the activities of the suspended chairman and other national officers.

National officers suspended along the chairman include, Deputy National Chairman (North), Alh. Abubakar Adamu and Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Uchenna Okogbuo.

They were accused of not involving NWC in day to day running of the party, which violates article 12 (3) of the party’s constitution among other offences.
