Disquiet at Ekiti varsity over ‘underhand deals’

Published

THERE is disquiet at the Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, over alleged underhand recruitment of workers and award of contracts without due process.

Some workers accused the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele, of “secretly” recruiting workers without the knowledge of the Visitor, Governor Ayo Fayose.

The workers, who spoke in confidence with The Nation, also accused Bandele of purchasing 10 cars, awarding contracts to his wife, Comfort Titilayo, and taking her on official foreign tours “when she is not an official of the university”.

In leaflets distributed on the campus, they said the vice chancellor engaged in “frivolous overseas trips”; at least 10 foreign tours within one year of assuming office.
