Eagles: Agali canvasses for Moses, Ighalo, Musa attack

Former Super Eagles striker, Victor Agali, has urged Nigeria coach, Sunday Oliseh, to build the team’s attacking formation on the trio of Victor Moses, Odion Ighalo and Ahmed Musa.

Victor Moses followed up his splendid debut for West Ham in the 2-0 win over Newcastle last Monday with another resounding performance which he capped with a goal – the first that Manchester City were conceding in the 2015/16 EPL season.

Odion Ighalo continued his very fine form as he scored a double to hand Watford their first away victory of the campaign – a 2-1 win over a hapless Newcastle side while Ahmed Musa scored two goals for his Russian club CSKA Moscow in their 6-4 win over Mordovia Saransk on Sunday.

The former Hansa Rostock of Germany striker said that with constant play and teamwork, the team striking form will be a force to be reckoned with.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with www.ripples.com.ng , Agali said, “It’s high time the coaching crew accept the fact that Ahmed Musa, Victor Moses and Odion Ighalo combination will lift the Super Eagles.”

He added that: “The Eagles don’t have fantastic strikers again like we used to have in the past but Ighalo could become a success in the Super Eagles if given the necessary support. With Moses and Musa playing at the wings, the team will churn in goals because the team needs goals to win games and also qualify for the 2017 Nations Cup.”

Agali also charged the strikers to work harder to gain the confidence of the coaches and the fans.

“Musa needs to work harder with his crosses which determine or lead to goals upfront. We still lack great wingers like Finidi George and Emmanuel Amunike, but Moses can get there if he plays more for the team,” he enthused.
