How EFCC bugged my phones, tried to assassinate me –Mrs Jonathan

Wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, has alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has made attempts to kill her by sending assassins after her.

The former First Lady, who claimed she had been lucky to escape being murdered by assassins on two occasion, therefore called on the House of Representatives to as a matter of urgency intervene in the matter before she is eliminated.

Mrs Jonathan further alleged that the commission bugged her telephone lines and has being embarrassing her by sending threatening text messages to her phone line.

This made the claims in a letter her lawyers, Granville Abibo ( SAN) & Co, wrote on her behalf, to the House of Representatives.

There letter read, “There have been assassination attempts, at least twice, between February and April, 2017, against our client ostensibly by the operatives of the EFCC along the Yenagoa – Mbaima Road , Bayelsa State, in furtherance of its unlawful actions against the former first family.

“The EFCC and its agents have repeatedly bugged the personal telephones of our client and her relations through its many operatives and has inundated her with numerous threatening calls and text messages .”

Aside the EFCC, Patience also accused other agencies of the government of intimidating he. She mentioned in particular the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

According to her, the FIRS officials had two months ago stormed her hotel in Bayelsa State and vandalised its properties.

“On May 3, 2017, officials of the FIRS, in a convoy of about 20 trucks and over 70 personnel, raided our client’s NGO – Aridolf Jo Resort Wellness and Spa Limited – situated at Kpansia Expressway, Bayelsa State, and orchestrated a massive destruction of personal properties belonging to our client without any lawful court order or search warrant and caused mayhem there under the guise of trying to collect unpaid taxes without following any due process provided by law to do so,” she said.

Ripples Nigeria had also on Monday reported a letter by Patience through Abibo & Co, where she alleged that she and her family members were being embarrassed and witch hunted by the EFCC police and NDLEA.
