EFCC nabs 94 suspected fraudsters at Osun nightclub

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday arrested 94 suspected internet fraudsters at a night club in Osun State.

The suspects, according to the anti-graft agency, were arrested during a raid carried out on the night club notorious for holding fraudsters’ party.

The raid was carried out at “Club Secret” Underground around Ibadan-Iwo Expressway, Osogbo.

The Commission in a statement by its spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, said the raid also led to the confiscation of 19 cars, laptops, scores of sophisticated mobile phones and other items.

The statement read: “The wee-hour operation was sequel to an intelligence report hinting that the suspected internet fraudsters were organising a night party for Sunday, October 13 during which some of them intended to celebrate their loots.”

“A discreet operation on the club had earlier been carried out to ascertain the authenticity of the intelligence.”

The EFCC spokesperson, however, said the suspects would be arraigned at the end of the investigation.
