EXAM MALPRACTICE: Adeleke’s legal troubles mount as police re-arraign him on more charges

OSUN: PDP’s Adeleke heads to court, but APC unimpressed

The Nigeria police Tuesday re-arraigned Senator Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the last governorship election,on allegations of examination malpractice.

Adeleke, who was first arraigned on a four-count charge in September for alleged conspiracy and impersonation among other offences, was re-arraigned on Tuesday, the charges increased from four to seven-counts.

The police have accused Adeleke of conspiring to procure illegal examination results with workers at the Ojo-Aro community grammar school and arraigned him alongside a principal and three others accused of conspiring to commit the alleged crime.

The police also accused Adeleke of presenting false documents regarding his age and violating the exam malpractice act, CAP E15, 2004.

Adeleke, who came second to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Adegboyega Oyetola, is still challenging the outcome of the election.

The PDP candidate and his party have alleged political motive behind his legal travails which started close to the election.
