The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has assured Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari will soon balance his political appointments to reflect the principle of federal character.
He said the president was not unmindful of the federal character which is the yardstick for appointments into public offices in the country.
The president’s aide was reacting to the outrage by Nigerians over the recent appointments by the federal government which they said was ethnically biased.
Adesina, who spoke during a radio programme on RayPower 100.5 FM, said the federal character would feature in the coming appointments slated for September.

The President has promised to appoint his Ministers by September.
Adesina maintained that the appointments made so far by the president were solely based on merit.
“Appointments made so far by the president cannot be faulted by anyone as they are done purely on merit,” he said.
He assured Nigerians that the September deadline for the appointment of ministers still remains unchanged as the president was ready to keep to his promise.
