NNPC restores crude oil supplies to Warri, Kaduna refineries

The Federal government has moved to secure oil installations in response to oil workers’ shut down of NNPC operations nation-wide.
Oil workers had today commenced a coordinated resistance to the unbundling of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC. The move began with a shutdown of all NNPC operations across the country. This has triggered fears that the nation may return to the painful experience of fuel scarcity and black-outs.

The workers, under the aegis of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), said they were not consulted before decisions of the unbundling exercise were taken‎, hence, it is unacceptable to them.
Events are yet unfolding and there are apprehensions that stranded oil workers may become riotous if issues are not resolved very quickly. Unconfirmed sources say that security operatives have received orders to secure oil installations located all over the country.
