Senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central at the immediate past 8th Senate, has given five reasons Boko Haram terrorists have continued to terrorise Nigeria for ten years now.

The senator, in a post on his Twitter handle on Friday, named corruption in the prosecution of the war on terror, failure of the dialogue option, politicisation of security, global politics of arms sales to Nigeria, and affiliation of insurgent groups to external enemies, as the five reasons.

He wrote, “Five reasons why insurgency persisted for ten years in Nigeria; Corruption in the prosecution of the war on Terror. Failure of the dialogue option. Politicization of security. Global politics of arms sales to Nigeria. Affiliation of Insurgent groups to external enemy.

Activities of Boko Haram which became a concern to Nigerian government 10 years ago, worsened from 2014 to 2015 and has remained a menace to the country till date.

Nigeria Security Tracker July 1, 2019 update on number of Nigerians killed by Boko Haram, claimed that 35,588 Nigerians have lost their lives as a result of the insurgency attacks.

The number has already increased as some Nigerians have been killed since July 1.
