Gov Okorocha’s woes deepen as Oyegun reveals more

The All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has reacted to the claim by Governor Rochas Okorocha that his travails in the hands of some party stakeholders in Imo State were as a result of his opposition to tenure elongation of the party executives.

Oyegun, who rebuffed Okorocha’s claim, advised the governor to re-examine his ways because there was a united voice against him.

Okorocha, who apparently has lost control of the party to APC stakeholders in the state led by his deputy, Prince Eze Madumere, had blamed his travails on Oyegun, who he supposed was not happy that he opposed tenure elongation of the party executives at all levels earlier approved by the party leadership.

But Oyegun during an interview with reporters in Abuja on Sunday argued that Okorocha was not even leading voices that opposed the “so called” tenure elongation, and wondered why he should be singled out as a black sheep.

Noting that he would not want to go into details on the matter he said, “There is a united voice against the governor.

“He wasn’t the strongest force behind the objection to tenure elongation so why is his case different? I don’t think it is necessary to go into the details.”
