Governor Amosun rewards Paralypian

Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun has rewarded its Indigene Mrs. Lateefat Omolola Tijani, who won silver medal at the just concluded Paralympics in Brazil alongside her coach, Mrs. Kemi Oyebola.

In a statement released by Adejuwon Soyinka, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Governor, the women were rewarded with cash gifts.

“Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has rewarded Mrs. Lateefat Omolola Tijani, a Paralympics Silver Medalist from Ogun State, with a cash prize of N1m while her coach, Mrs. Kemi Oyebola, was given a cash prize of N500,000.”

In addition to the cash prize, the Governor also promised to provide the Paralympian with training kits of her choice that could aid her preparation for the next Paralympic games.

Governor Amosun also charged the Paralympian to ensure that she wins a Gold medal at the next Paralympics.

The Governor stated these, when Mrs. Tijani and her coach, Mrs.Oyebola, came to present the Silver medal won in the 45kg Women Weightlifting category to the Governor at his Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta office.

Amosun was full of praise for the Silver medalist, he furthermore urged her not to relent in her quest for excellence.

The Governor appreciated the coach, family and all those who supported Mrs. Tijani to achieve this laudable feat.

Mrs. Tijani thanked the Governor for what she described as his “kind gesture and support for sports.” and also promise to win gold in the next Paralympics.

“I can assure you that I am going for the Gold medal at the next Paraympics.”
