Govt shuts down LG as suspected herdsmen raze community, kill 20

The Interim Management Committee (IMC) Chairman of Jema’a LGA, in Kaduna State, Dr Humble Katuka, has slammed a 24 hours curfew on the area.

The curfew came after suspected armed herdsmen laid a surprise siege on Godogodo, a semi-urban settlement in the Jema’a LGA and killed 20 persons between Saturday and Sunday.

Godogodo was razed down with casualty figure put at 20 apart from the injured, according to police and those who escaped the attacks.

There is fear that the incident may intensify strained relationships between the majority Christian population of Kafanchan, about 12 km, north of Godogodo, and its minority settler population of Hausa/Fulani Muslims.
