HATE CRIME: 17-yr-old teenage asylum seeker brutally attacked in London

A gang in the British capital of London brutally attacked a 17-year-old for being an asylum seeker.

According to reports, the Kurdish-Iranian refugee who is in serious but stable condition was waiting at a bus stop with two friends in Croydon, south London, on Friday, when he was approached by about eight people.

“The suspects asked the victim where he was from and when they established that he was an asylum seeker they chased him and launched a brutal attack,” Detective Sergeant Kris Blamires said in a statement on Saturday.

“He has sustained serious head and facial injuries as a result of this attack, which included repeated blows to the head by a large group of attackers,” he added.

The asylum seeker was taken to a nearby London hospital for treatment, while his two friends were lucky to escaped with minor injuries

Recall in March, a series of demonstrations were staged across the UK with protesters filing out in their numbers to register their displeasure against post-Brexit racism.

The protest was aimed at the increasing number of attacks on foreigners in the aftermath of the vote to leave the EU last year, thousands of anti-racism activists thronged the rally in central London.
