In new intrigue Lagos APC begs Ambode to come collect his membership card

In another intriguing move, the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the governor, Akinwunmi Ambode to come forward to pick up his membership card.

The party claimed that the card had been ready, and that it had reached out to Ambode severally to come pick it up, but that the governor has not shown up.

State chairman of the party, Tunde Balogun said “the Governor’s Membership card is ready; I have called him severally but he won’t pick my calls. His ADC is my witness; so I urge His Excellency to send someone to pick his membership card and we are sorry for any inconveniences”.

It is unclear why the party has chosen this tense period to produce the governor’s membership card, and why Ambode has not picked it up.

There are speculations that Ambode may decamp to the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) if he is denied the governorship ticket in the APC, and the party’s antics, including several postponement of the primary, may be part of a plot to ensure he doesn’t move to the PDP.

The embattled governor, had on Monday attacked his opponent in the race for the ticket when he addressed a press conference in the Ikeja area of the state, a move many view as the desperate fight of a drowning man.
