Is Suswam retiring the books? Donates 8 SUVs to incoming govt

Published

on

So concerned about the wellbeing of his successor, outgoing governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam, on Thursday donated eight new Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) to the governor-elect, Samuel Ortom, his deputy, Benson Aboun, and their wives.

The governor who made the donation in Makurdi, the state capital, said it was part of the move by the outgoing administration to ensure peaceful transition on May 29.

Mr. Ortom of the APC had defeated the PDP candidate, Terhemen Tarzoor, in the April 11 election. He polled a total of 422,932 votes to defeat the PDP candidate who got 313,878 votes.

Mr. Suswam is believed to have had propped up Tarzoor, a former Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly.

He asked journalists to give support to the incoming APC administration, which will be headed by Mr. Ortom.

But the question many are asking is; Could the incoming administration not have gotten its own cars, especially since they were purchased with state funds?

And how does SUVs guarantee peaceful transition from one administration to another?

Don’t we all want to have it soft? This suswan insulted his office and now offering gifts. I hope there will be no business as usual when Buhari takes over. Sai baba. Sigh.

This guys won’t stop being an embarrassment. Stealing is how best to describe his action. Won’t be shocked if the contract was awarded to his relation. I just tire.
