Kaduna: Abductors of S’Leone Dep High Commissioner demand N44 million ransom

Maj. Gen. Alfred Nelson (retd.), the Sierra Leone Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, has been kidnapped, with the abductors demanding about N44million.

Nelson who was reportedly kidnapped by unknown gun men along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway on Thursday, was going to Kaduna to honour an invitation by the Military for graduation ceremony.

The whereabouts of his driver is still unknown

It was learnt that the embassy accountant at 4am Friday, received a strange phone call from the kidnappers, who placed Nelson on the line and after he (Nelson) identified himself to the accountant, the kidnappers informed the accountant that he was in their custody.

They are said to be demanding a ransom of 44 million Naira (about $150,000).

Maj-Gen Nelson was head of Sierra Leone Armed Forces before his posting to Nigeria.
