KANO: Policeman killed as gunmen abduct foreign worker

Some gunmen in Kano State shot dead a policeman before abducting Michael Cremza, a German engineer working with Dantata and Sawoe Company in the state.

The incident occurred along Sabon Titi Madobi Road, Kano, around 7:45am on Monday.

The armed men numbering five were said to have opened fire on a vehicle conveying Michael Cremza on his way to a construction site.

Musa Majia, spokesman of the police in the state, said the command has deployed a “powerful team of operatives and detectives” to cordon the axis.

“The police commissioner Rabiu Yusuf has since deployed a powerful team of operatives and detectives to cordon the axis with a view to arresting the culprits and rescue the victim. Manhunt of the abductors is ongoing,” he said.

“Any person with useful information should report to the nearest police station or call our emergency telephone lines as follows; 08032419754, 08123821575,”

The incident happened one week after a Kano-based Syrian was killed while his son was kidnapped.
