Kashamu expelled by PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled Buruji Kashamu, the senator representing Ogun East.

Kola Ologbondiyan, spokesman of the party, announced this after the party’s national executive council meeting in Abuja on Monday.

Kashamu was expelled alongside three other members of the party in Ogun state— Bayo Adebayo, Segun Sarki and Sanimu Sodipo.

Dayo was factional chairman of the PDP in Ogun State, the faction of the party loyal to Kashamu.

Kahsamu’s suspension comes on heel of critical comments he made against outgoing Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, attributing the loss of the PDP in the just concluded governorship election in Ekiti to mistakes he made.

This is not the first time that Kashamu is facing disciplinary action from his party; in December 2011, the party’s national working committee suspended him for one month.
