Super Eagles and Chelsea defender, Kenneth Omeruo has completed a loan move to Spanish top division side, CD Leganes.

The Spanish club tweeted this via their official Twitter handle, and Chelsea confirmed it on their official website on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old central defender, who can also play at right-back, moved to Stamford Bridge from Standard Liege in 2012.

He has never played for Chelsea senior team since the move six years ago, and has since endured loan spells in Holland, Turkey and other clubs in England.

Omeruo was a member of the Nigeria squad at the just-concluded FIFA World Cup in Russia, where he featured in two group matches – against Iceland and against Argentina.

Omeruo spent last season on loan at Turkish side Kasimpasa, where he made 28 appearances; and is set for a new challenge in the Spanish league.

La Liga kicks off this Friday, and Leganes say the player will be presented to the fans same day.
