Buhari offers solution to terrorism in Africa

After months of criticism concerning the over bloated presidential air fleet, the federal government has decided to offload two of the aircraft in the fleet.

The aircraft, a Falcon 7x and Hawker 4000 were advertised the sale by the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, on Tuesday.

It would be recalled that Nigerians had queried the wisdom behind the maintenance of a presidential fleet that boasts of about 11 aircrafts despite the current economic situation in the country.

However, President Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, confirmed in September that the presidency would soon do away with some of the aircrafts.

According to the advert, the bids for the aircraft will be in US dollar

The development was confirmed by Shehu.

The presidential fleet reportedly includes two Falcon 7X jets, two Falcon 900 jets, one Gulfstream 550, one Boeing 737 BBJ (Nigerian Air Force 001 or Eagle One), and Gulfstream IVSP. Others are one Gulfstream V, Cessna Citation 2 and Hawker Siddley 125-800 jet.
