Mr. Christopher Okon, a father of five who resides on Nanka Street, Mile 1 Diobu, Port Harcourt may live to regret his action after pushing his wife, Mrs. Nsikak (a nursing mother) to death over a quarrel she had with his lover who is a co-tenant.

Reports say trouble started when Christopher’s lover gave his kids food and when his wife who is a food seller came back from the market, she engaged her husbands lover in a hot exchange of words over her action.

Sources say Christopher later got a call from his lover over the altercation she had with his wife and the man who is a driver with a company in Port Harcourt and a native of Ikot Abasi in Akwa Ibom State, reportedly rushed back home and started beating his wife.

An enraged Christopher, according to eyewitnesses reportedly pounced on his wife, raining blows on her and allegedly pushed her out of their apartment around 2am with sources saying she collapsed after the push.

The lifeless remains of Mrs. Okon was found later the next morning with neighbours raining curses and abuses on Christopher who may have killed his wife after pushing her late at night.

Angry neighbours also dragged Okon outside his apartment and compelled him to carry the lifeless remains of his late wife.

A neighbour and a close friend of the deceased simply identified as Mrs. Beauty described the incident as hurtful and degrading.

“This man, popularly called Papa David, never took care of his family. He is sleeping around with women, including married women. He is a driver in a very big company, yet his wife was suffering, catering for the children and even him.

“Her death is very painful. The man will never go unpunished. He has killed her now. So, who will take care of the little children? The youngest baby is less than two years old.”

According to police sources, there was no formal report of the incident made before the corpse of Mrs. Okon was transferred to a mortuary in Akwa Ibom.
