Man United end US tour with defeat to Barca

English Premier League side, Manchester United suffered a 1-0 defeat to La Liga giants, Barcelona, in their last preseason friendly in the United States.

It was the Red Devil’s first defeat in their preseason tour this summer, after defeating Manchester City and Real Madrid before now.

It was Barca’s Neymar who scored the only goal of the International Champions Cup contest in Washington.

“I think it would be very bad for us to leave the US without a defeat,” said United’s manager, Jose Mourinho.

“Playing against teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City – it would be very bad to go home with just victories.”

The Premier League giants will now face Norwegian side Valerenga on Sunday before playing Serie A side, Sampdoria in their final pre-season match in Dublin on Wednesday.

On August 8, United will meet Real Madrid again in the Uefa Super Cup.
