Five dead as 18-seater bus plunges into river

An 18-seater commercial bus which was coming from Lagos and heading to Ondo town unfortunately plunged into Arun river, at Ogere, near Ijebu Ode in Ogun State.
All five passengers who boarded the commercial bus (with goods) identified as a Toyota Hiace with registration number ONDO AKR 747XA reportedly lost their lives.

Confirming the incident in separate interviews, the state commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Adetunji Adegoke and the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi said the bus and all the five passengers who had died have been recovered.

According FRSC state chairman, the passengers comprised three males and two females.
A source at the scene of the crash stated that the Okitipupa bound passenger bus had taken off from Idumota in the Lagos Island where it was loaded with the goods before the unfortunate plunge.
Though the cause of the crash still remains unknown, it was however, gathered that it took the combined efforts of personnel of the FRSC to recover the bus and lifeless passengers of the ill-fated incident.
