President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday hosted the victorious national female basketball team, D’Tigress, and rewarded the players and coaches financially for their feat.
The president welcomed the victorious basketball Team D’Tigress, at the start of this morning’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Each player of the team was gifted N1,000,000 while each of the officials are to get N500,000.

The senior women’s basketball team emerged winners of the 2017 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Championship after defeating Senegal 65-48 points in the final.
The Nigerian ladies had an excellent run in the tournament as they came out on top from each of the seven games they played at Bamako, Mali.
By reaching the final, they qualified for the 2018 FIBA World Cup in Spain, and went on to claim the continental title for the third time, having won it in 2003 and 2005.
