National Assembly to spend N115bn in 2016

Members of the upper and lower legislative chambers will spend a total of N115billion in the 2016 fiscal year.

In a document obtained on Wednesday from the Budget Office of the Federation, Ripples Nigeria gathered that the National Assembly had its budget pruned from N120 billion to N115 billion in 2016 budget.

Besides the NASS, other MDAs that will draw from the N351,370,000,000 statutory transfer envelope of the 2016 budget include the National Judicial Council with N70,000,000,000, Niger Delta Development Commission, N41,050,000,000 and Universal Basic Education N77,110,000,000.

Others like the Public Complaints Commission will receive a total of N2,000,000,000, while the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will get N45,000,000,000 and the National Human Rights Commission, N1,210,000,000.

The Presidency will spend N 39,124,978,811 for both capital and recurrent expenditures while the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) will get a total of N90,350,068,052 for both capital and recurrent expenses next year.
