Again, Gov Wike raises the alarm, says IGP Idris wants to raid his Abuja house

Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has described the Nigeria Police as a political party and no longer crime fighters.

Decrying that the Police have abandoned the provision of security which is their constitutional function, the governor advised the force to revert to their duty and allow politicians play politics.

Wike stated this on Friday at the state Government House, Port Harcourt, when he granted audience to Mr. Zaki Ahmed, the state’s new Commissioner of Police.

He further accused the Police of sabotaging the state amnesty programme just because of their political consideration, adding, that the politicisation of police jobs in the state have backfired in many ways.

He said, “The Police instead of fighting crime has constituted itself into a political party. Everything for the police must be considered from a political viewpoint.

“Allow politicians to play politics, simply do security work. A state like Rivers is key to Nigeria. Our national assets are here and that is why we always support security agencies.”

According to Governor Wike, police in the state have failed to give anything in return for all the investments his administration has made so far in regards to their operations.

Wike therefore urged the force to ensure professionality in the discharge of their duties and promised that he will continue to support them.

Ahmed had earlier in his speech asked the governor help the force in the area of logistics support assuring on the police readiness to effectively carry out its duties in the state.

Ahmed replaces Francis Mobolaji Odesanya who died recently in an India hospital,

The general Nigeria police in all states has turned into political party, almost everything they do gets influenced by politics and this is killing Nigeria’s security system.

Nigeria police are even better under this Buhari’s administration than the previous government, all states have better commissioners of police and the impacts of the police have been telling on each state. Securities are tighter and better than it used to be. I’m sure the new CP of rivers is a no nonsense man who will make his men workout than ever.

Wike is saying this because he has no control over the police to use them for his selfish aim. Him and fayose are blabbers.
