Obanikoro finally dumps PDP for APC

Published

on

Former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, will on Saturday formally defect to ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Lagos State chapter of APC confirmed this to the Nigerian Tribune and was also corroborated by the former media aide to the minister, Mr. Jonathan Eze, who said the event, expected to be attended by other defecting PDP leaders and members, would hold at the Campus Square on Lagos Island.

Chairman of Lagos APC, Otunba Henry Ajomale, could not be reached as he was said to be at a meeting, but his aide, who picked the call made to his phone, confirmed the report, saying, “Obanikoro is defecting to APC on Saturday.”

Corruption flies everyday in Nigeria. The guy has crossed to apc so his trial can halt. What a useless party is apc?

The idea of cross carpeting from one political party to another is becoming a vicious cycle and that’s why our political parties are bereaved of ideologies.

This isn’t the issue, cross carpeting is the best thing to happen to Nigeria’s politics of this era, politicians are ‘switching’ parties because they want their interests to be protected. Why not cross carpet instead of staying in a party that cannot protect your interest?

APC is the new safe house for politicians who have at least an interest to protect, either to escape EFCC or make their political ambition comes through

Obanikoro has done himself some favours, APC is a better party than PDP. The moment a party can no longer protect its members, it has lost its essence

APC is now housing more thieves than it originally has, I hope these people will not corrupt the party into what it’s not
