Former Foreign Affairs Minister, Chief Tom Ikimi, has said that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu will win Edo governorship election with margin Godwin Obaseki and his party will not be able to contest.

He said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Ize-Iyamu, has won the hearts of Edo people and that they are resolved to give him their votes.  According to him Obaseki, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, has no chance in the coming election.

Ikimi said this while addressing journalists in Benin weekend, adding that the new date for the election guarantees security for all and sundry as voters will be better assured to go out and exercise their franchise.

“There is nothing to fear. The security is good everywhere. The leadership of our party is equal to the task, and we shall win this election resoundingly. The margin of winning will be such that APC will not be able to contest the victory. We are now at the threshold of the history. We brought Oshiomhole seven and a half years ago, and we are now determined that Oshiomhole should give way for Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as successor,” he said.
