PDP BoT endorses Makarfi as nat’l chairman

The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) on Thursday endorsed the decision reached by the party for the appointment of Sen Ahmed Makarfi as the national chairman of the party.

The BoT in a communiqué read to newsmen at the end of a meeting in Abuja called on all aggrieved party members to withdraw all pending legal suits from the court.

The meeting was called to find a way out of the crisis created by various issues in the party, chief among which is who occupies the position of national chairman.

One of the contenders to the position of the national chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff was absent, but Makarfi was present.

It would be recalled that two different courts in Lagos and Port Harcourt had given two different judgements ordering the instalment of both Makarfi and Sherif as national chairman of the party
