KWARA PENSION: Get your facts right, Saraki tells Nigerian journalists

The trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki has been scheduled to resume on Tuesday, June 7 at the Code of conduct Tribunal, CCT

Saraki is facing a 16 count charge of false declaration of asset.

It would be recalled that the tribunal had, on Wednesday, adjourned without giving a date for the resumption of trial following the absence of the key witness of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Michael Wetkas.

The prosecution had informed the court that he was giving evidence in another case involving the EFCC, asking for adjournment to enable him to be present in court in continuation of his cross examination by the defence.

However, the CCT, in statement by its head of press and public relation, Ibraheem Al-hassan, said the trial will continue between June 7 and 9.

“The decision for the adjournment to the new dates was sequel to the abrupt written request from the lead prosecution counsel, Rotimi Jacob (SAN) that his PWI Mr. Michael Wetkas was scheduled to testify before the Federal High Court, Abuja, in the same date, thus; 1st June 2016″, Alhassan said.
